Post-COVID, a reduced passion for physiotherapy and a desire for passive income led me to explore the property sector in March 2021. Starting with £5k savings, I used the rent-to-rent HMO strategy, leveraging my unique experience from living in 36 HMOs across the UK in my twenties.

My parents always taught me to do well in school, get good grades, go to university, and then secure a good career to work up the ladder! I did exactly that… I studied at university to become a physiotherapist and worked hard in the NHS for 12 years, but I always thought there was more to life!
I loved traveling and wanted to take holidays spontaneously and for long stretches to explore faraway places, but my job never allowed for this with the limited annual leave I had! I was seeking freedom!
So, when the COVID pandemic hit, the NHS became such an anxiety-provoking environment to work in. You were on the front line, the most susceptible to picking up the virus, faced with writing my will, and dealing with poor staffing, inadequate PPE, and death every day. I decided I needed to make a BIG change.
In March 2021, with only £5000 of savings, I never thought I would have the money to become a property investor, but I discovered the Rent to Rent HMO Strategy. Having lived in over 36 house shares while doing locum work as a physiotherapist across the country, I knew exactly what tenants would need and how an HMO needed to be managed.
I got myself a mentor, and within the first month of the program, after 226 calls, I had managed to secure my first 2 Rent to Rent HMO properties. Once tenanted, these properties were making me £1200 a month in total. Then, that summer in 2021, I secured another 2 properties and within 6 months, I was making £3500 a month from 4 Rent to Rent HMOs.
I now no longer work as a physiotherapist in the NHS; I am fully in control of my own time. This year, I have traveled to Australia, India, Bangkok, Croatia, Albania, Greece, New York, Venice, and Paris. This would not have been possible without my Rent to Rent HMO portfolio and taking the leap into property.
